Summer Breeze

Nicknames: Summer

Age: 16 years old

Breed: Mountain Pleasure/Rocky Mountain

When Summer first arrived, she was emaciated from abuse by a previous owner… and pregnant.

When Summer first arrived, she was emaciated from abuse by a previous owner… and pregnant!

Backstory: Summer came to me abused and starved by a previous owner, which made her very guarded and mistrusting. She never let anyone touch her face and was always concerned about her next meal. To our surprise, she was also pregnant — fate for me as a doula and midwife! Summer needed a lot of training from an owner that could be patient and gentle. Today, she has come out of her shell and enjoys interacting with all types of people, something we are thrilled to see!

Characteristics:

  • Amazing trail partner

  • Enjoys interacting with people both young and old

Fun Facts:

  • Mom to baby Jesse

  • Partner to pasture mate Dreamer

Jesse

Nicknames: Jesse-Ka, Baby Jesse

Age: 5 years old

Breed: Pleasure Mountain/Rocky Mountain/Belgian cross

Jesse as a baby - although she’s always Baby Jesse to us!

Jesse as a baby - although she’s always Baby Jesse to us!

Backstory: Jesse’s mom Summer was pregnant when she was first acquired by Kristin so Jesse has been imprinted since birth. We instantly had a connection that started at her birth and has continued over the years. She is my son Devin’s horse and has participated in several training sessions and clinics. Because she is still in training, she may not be available for every session.

Characteristics:

  • Fun-loving

  • Curious

  • Confident

Fun Facts:

  • Very mouthy — she picks up anything she finds in her path with her mouth often running and playing hard to get with her “new toy”

  • Boss of the herd

Mini Magnolia

Nicknames: Min, Mini Mags, Lil’ Stubby

Age: 16 years old

Breed: Miniature Horse

Backstory: Mini Magnolia joined the herd Spring of 2022. The decision to adopt Min was a quick one after a late night scroll on Facebook where she was posted as a brood mare for sale. Saddened by the idea of her being forced to have more foals (we were told she has had six in her lifetime!) she was at Magnolia Stables the very next morning! At first she was nervous to be approached but has since warmed up to us and has been a feisty and loving addition to the herd. She is an absolute doll with kids and everyone loves to watch her mane bounce as she trots about.

Characteristics:

  • Sassy

  • Sweet

  • Young at heart

Fun Facts:

  • Thinks she’s a normal sized horse

  • We are gearing up to train her to pull a cart!

Dreamer Lacy Tribute

IMG_2507.JPG

Nicknames: Dreamscicle, Dreams

Lived: 22 years

Breed: American Quarter Horse

Our hearts are deeply saddened by the loss of our beloved Dreamer Lacy. Dreamer crossed over the Rainbow Bridge on November 12, 2021. He was an Impressive bred competitor prior to becoming my first horse and equine learning partner.  My husband gifted Dreamer to me on my 40th birthday. His healing and trusting nature helped me through many hardships that will never be forgotten. I will always cherish our fond memories.

Dreamer was loved by many and will be truly missed, especially by all those he helped therapeutically. He was the reason the dream of Magnolia Stables came true. He was our first facilitated learning partner.  He will never be forgotten as his love will live on through all that he touched.

Big Chief promises to keep everyone loved and safe. Jesse wants to learn your hoof shake.  Summer Breeze misses you dearly. We all do… until we meet again… across the Rainbow Bridge… we love you.
